Sports Therapy

Sports Therapy can treat both sports related and non-sports related injuries. Sports injuries can affect almost any part of the body including muscles, tendons, ligaments, bones and joints. 

On your first visit at Exeter Sports Therapy you will undergo an initial consultation to diagnose the full extent of your injury. 

Consultation and diagnosis

Our Initial Consultation includes:

  • Taking a full history 

  • Orthopaedic examination (testing joints, ligaments and muscles)

  • Postural and gait assessment

  • Range of motion assessment (testing flexibility)

  • Diagnosis

  • Detailed summary of results (what it all means)

  • Personalised treatment plan

  • Referral to appropriate specialist if sports therapy is not suitable 

  • Treatment if suitable 


Treatment at Exeter Sports Therapy typically includes a wide range of techniques combined to tailor each patient. These could include a combination of:

  • Therapeutic massage

  • Laser therapy/ Ultrasound Therapy 

  • Acupuncture

  • Muscle stretches and exercises

  • Mobilisations 

  • Advice
